The Wallins
The Wallin family has been in the seafood business since 1918.
It all began when generations ago, Walt Senior’s father hopped the John Ringling Circus Train from Indiana heading south to Sarasota, Florida. There, Clause Able Wallin (Swedish) met his wife who came from a long line of commercial fisherman.
And so, history continues with Brett Wallin, fourth generation, joining the business in May 2001 after graduating from High Point University in North Carolina.
Walt’s Original Oyster Bar Restaurant served locals and visitors for over 35 years. The downtown landmark has been rebuilt as Walt’s Plaza with various specialty shops. So come on by and experience Florida cracker style atmosphere at Walt’s Fish Market and Restaurant.
